First time at a hammam?
What happens, what to wear, what to bring, how long to allow.

01What happens?
- You choose your option at reception, where prices are displayed, then head to the changing room.
- In the hammam, the steam warms you up. There is also a sauna.
- An attendant applies black soap, scrubs you with the traditional glove, then gives you a soap wash (invigorating or with ghassoul clay, depending on your option).
- You can follow on with a massage or a treatment, and finish in the relaxation room or at the café.
02Are men and women together?
- No. The hammam is single-sex, with a women’s side and a men’s side.
- Women are looked after by female attendants, men by male attendants.
03What do I wear inside?
- Keep on underwear or a swimsuit.
- Single-use shorts and briefs are sold on site.
04What should I bring?
- A towel, shower sandals, a change of underwear and your toiletries. You can bring your own scrub glove too.
- Forgot something? The shop sells the traditional scrub glove, an exfoliating mitt, shower gel, Marseille soap, a razor and a pumice stone.
- With the private hammam and the Eve package, bathrobe and towels are provided.
05How long does it take?
- A visit usually takes about 45 minutes.
- Add the length of any massage (15, 30 or 60 minutes) and time to rest.
06Which languages do the staff speak?
- Arabic and French. English is limited, but prices are on display and the options are easy to point to.

07Any rule I should know?
- People with heart conditions or contagious diseases may not enter the steam bath (sign displayed in the hammam).
